In commercial buildings such as factories, warehouses, retail spaces, and workshops, the warm air generated by machinery and occupants rises to the roof space. It was assumed that the most effective way to remove this trapped air was to install extractor fans to exhaust the air from the ceiling. While this method removes the warm air that gathers in the roof space, it does very little to make occupants feel comfortable at ground level.

BladeTec High Volume Low Speed (HVLS) fans solve this problem. A HVLS ceiling fan slowly circulates the air and makes it more comfortable by decreasing the effective temperature by up to 10˚C. It’s the ideal supplement for air conditioning since it allows the customer to raise their temperature settings by as much as 2.7˚C. That translates to a reduction in summertime energy consumption by nearly 20%. BladeTec HVLS fans are available in diameters ranging from 2.4m to 7.3m and can move air up to 30 meters in all directions from the center of the fan. The upward tilt of the fan blades creates uniform airflow while the blade taper eliminates pockets of stagnant air under the center of the fan for comfortable climate throughout the space. The fan motor is direct driven and is nearly silent, operating between 38 – 42 dBA, depending on fan speed. All ceiling-mounted HVLS fans are supplied with a touch screen wireless Zone Controller which is capable of controlling up to 24 fans from a single location.
